The Komine EK-300 Heated Grips with built-in controller is a great way to keep your hands warm whilst on the bike. With 5 settings on the integrated heat controller, you’ll be able to customise your heat to your riding conditions without cluttering up your handlebars. These grips have a lot of kick to them so it would be rare that you would need them on the high setting.
The great thing about Komine grips is that you can install them yourself thanks to the simple battery harness system that they come with which can help remove added costs. The harness simply connects to the battery and the grips deactivate themselves once the voltage drops to 11.5V to protect your battery (some bikes will require more than 11.5V to start) . Having them installed so they run through the ignition system is also an option with the help of your local technician.

I chose these because they have an OEM look and dont require an controller. There is no a lot of real estate on the handle bars of a Ninja. They look good and get really hot. Unfortunately, the Volt Sensitive Relay (VSR) doesnt function as stated. Twice now I have forgotten to turn them off or accidentally turned them on and they have flattened my battery so the bike will not start.
I will now have to pull the fairing off again and rewire into the ignition to prevent this.
Hi Mark,
Very sorry you got caught out with the VSR. It is true that some bikes require more than 11.5V to start.
Sorry to hear you needed to go to the effort of removing the fairings again to rewire them.
Glad you are at least enjoying the heat.
Bought these heated grips about 6 months ago and absolutely love them. I live in Melbourne and winters can get very cold, these things heat up very fast and the controls are very easy to use.
Excellent quality product.
I recently installed these on my 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and I’m extremely happy with them. I connected them to my aftermarket fuse box/relay so that the grips will only activate when the ignition is on. A very simple install should you decide to go this route, or connect directly to the battery. The grips are fantastic (I live in the Canberra Australia region), so they are a life saver in the cold weather we regularly endure here. On high the grips are VERY warm and the integrated controller is a breeze to use, even with thick gloves. The service from Zarkie was first class and I highly recommend them as a company and the Komine heated grips. A very happy customer!
Awesome, easy to fit & great to use. Toasty watm hands even in the coldest weather.
Like the unobtrusive look though lamp colour hard to see in bright light.
I wired them into my tail light and through a relay so they only work when ignition on.
Most importantly they heat up very quickly.
Just fitted mine. I was quoted $650 for heated grips fitted at the Suzuki dealers and I fitted the Komine ones myself for $170. They are working really well.
Good kit. Easy instal and they work a charm.
Would happily recommend.
